Early Intervention in Psychosis Service

Mental Health and Counselling Services

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for young people between the ages of 16-30 who are experiencing psychosis for the first time. Psychosis describes a condition affecting a person’s thought processes so that they can find difficulty in telling what is real and what is not. Psychosis can lead to changes in mood thinking and behaviour.

The service covers the greater Dunedin area, including Waitaki and Balclutha and offers advice and support to other Mental Health Services throughout the region as needed.
