Ministry for Vulnerable Children/ Oranga Tamariki, social workers work with families to: protect children and young people up to the age of 17 years.
Also to manage young offenders up to the age of 17 years; ensure that children in need are cared for; help families maintain and strengthen their child-rearing role.
